# First profile connection

After setting up your account, the next step is to connect a LinkedIn profile. This will allow InGrow to begin tracking engagement and generating signals.

    From the main dashboard, locate the "Connected Profiles" section and click the **+ Add** button.

    Paste the full URL of the LinkedIn profile you wish to track into the provided field. Please ensure the URL is complete and correct.

  <Step title="Review and Confirm">
    A preview of the profile will be displayed, including the name, headline, and profile picture. Verify that this is the correct profile and click **Confirm & Sync**.

## What are Signals?

Once the synchronization is complete, InGrow will populate your dashboard with "signals." A signal represents any form of engagement from a LinkedIn user with the connected profile's content. This includes:

* **Reactions:** Likes, Celebrates, Loves, etc.
* **Comments:** Direct comments on posts.
* **Profile Views:** Views of the connected profile.
* **Connections:** New connection requests.

These signals are the core of InGrow, providing you with insights into who is engaging with a particular profile, allowing you to identify potential leads and track audience engagement over time.
